Besides your own receipts and spending, everything Tratobor shows comes from the sources below.
OpenStreetMap — chains and store counts
In “My discounts”, chain names, brand tags, operators and how many stores a chain has in the US come from © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. The credit is shown under the chain list.
Our chain database is open under ODbL
Our own layer — chain names, aliases, legal entities and categories we use to recognize receipts — is partly derived from OpenStreetMap. So it is published under the same ODbL 1.0:
- the full chain database shipped with the app: tratobor.com/open-data/orgs.json;
- the weekly US snapshot: api.tratobor.com/orgs/usa-own.json.
You may copy and adapt it under ODbL: credit “© OpenStreetMap contributors; Tratobor” and share databases built on it under ODbL too. Loyalty program descriptions are our summaries of the chains’ official pages, each with a link and a check date.
Wikidata
Brand identifiers that link a chain to its record come from Wikidata (CC0, no restrictions).
Exchange rates
Euro reference rates of the European Central Bank, via the open Frankfurter service.
Guides
Inflation figures come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (CPI), grocery budgets from the USDA Food Plans. Both are U.S. government works in the public domain; each guide lists its sources at the end.
