How we make Tratobor's guides

Tratobor sorts your spending into categories, finds repeat purchases and subscriptions and shows your personal inflation. Here is what our code does, which texts our language model (AI) drafts and how we check them.

Code, not a model

The subscription tracker, the calculators inside the guides and the spending breakdowns are computed by software from your own numbers. Files you load are parsed right in your browser.

Guides

First drafts of our guides are written by our language model (AI). The text is then checked separately from writing: facts and figures against primary sources — where a guide relies on outside data, the sources are listed at the end — and worked examples re-run in the same calculator. Every guide shows its publication date, and the update date when it changed.

Images

Diagrams and page previews are drawn by software. The only AI-made element is the background of our hanko seal logo; the character 貯 on it was set in code.
