Best cashback credit cards for dining in Singapore

Dining is where Singapore cashback cards compete hardest — but the headline rate comes with a minimum monthly spend and a cap of a few dozen dollars. The calculator ranks every card in our catalog on what you actually spend eating out.

your numbers

Most cards pay their bonus rate only above a minimum monthly spend, so the total matters. Spend above a cap earns nothing here.

If you mostly use one chain

These rates apply only at the merchants named, or need a condition the calculator can't check, so they aren't in the ranking. If most of your dining goes to one of them, they can beat every card above.

What counts as dining

Banks don't look at what you ate: they look at the merchant category code (MCC) the shop's card terminal reports. Restaurants usually come through as 5812 and fast-food outlets as 5814; food delivery apps and food-court stalls paid through a payment aggregator may report something else and fall outside the dining category. Hotel restaurants billed on the room are hotel spend. If a regular spot matters to you, check which category it lands in on your first statement.

Questions and answers

Does food delivery count as dining?

It depends on the card's terms and on how the delivery app bills you. Some cards list food delivery inside their dining category, others count it as online spend, and some exclude it. The category label on each card's page here is the bank's own wording.

Do hawker centres earn dining cash back?

Only if the stall takes your card directly and its terminal is coded as a restaurant or fast-food merchant. Payments by PayNow QR or through some aggregators are not card spend at that merchant and usually don't earn the dining rate.

What happens to dining spend above the cap?

Once a card's dining cap is reached, extra dining spend earns nothing more on most cards — that's why the calculator shows the cash back flattening out. Paying the rest with a second card is usually worth it.

Other categories

Checked against the banks' own pages and terms on 13 October 2026. Banks change rates, caps and exclusions at short notice — the card's terms on the bank's site are what counts. Tratobor takes no money from banks and has no referral links; this is reference information, not financial advice.

which card to use

Holding two or three of these cards, it's easy to forget which one pays 8% where. In Tratobor, set your country to Singapore in the account settings, add your cards — the rates fill in from this catalog — and each expense shows which card would have paid the most. Free; no bank login.
