Best cashback credit cards for transport in Singapore

Transport covers two quite different bills: public transport fares charged to your card through SimplyGo, and taxis and ride-hailing. Some cards reward one, some both. The calculator ranks every card in our catalog on your own transport spend.

your numbers

Most cards pay their bonus rate only above a minimum monthly spend, so the total matters. Spend above a cap earns nothing here.

If you mostly use one chain

These rates apply only at the merchants named, or need a condition the calculator can't check, so they aren't in the ranking. If most of your transport goes to one of them, they can beat every card above.

  • 18% — SimplyGo (bus and MRT), with the DBS yuu Card; needs S$800 a month and purchases at 4 participating merchants.
  • 18% — Gojek, with the DBS yuu Card; needs S$800 a month and purchases at 4 participating merchants.
  • 5% — Grab, with the UOB One Card; needs S$600 a month on the card; 6.67% from S$2,000 a month; wallet top-ups excluded.

What counts as transport

MRT and bus rides tapped with a bank card are billed through SimplyGo as local commuter transport (MCC 4111), usually as one charge for a day's rides. Taxis report MCC 4121; ride-hailing apps may come through as taxis or as online spend, depending on how they are set up. Top-ups of a stored-value card such as EZ-Link are a top-up, not transport, and often earn nothing.

Questions and answers

Does SimplyGo count as transport spend?

When the card's transport category includes local commuter transport, yes — fares tapped with the card itself are charged through SimplyGo. Card top-ups are a different thing and most banks exclude them.

Do Grab and Gojek rides count?

If the card's transport category includes ride-hailing or taxis, rides paid by card in the app usually count. Grab wallet top-ups don't: they are e-wallet top-ups, which most cards exclude.

Other categories

Checked against the banks' own pages and terms on 13 October 2026. Banks change rates, caps and exclusions at short notice — the card's terms on the bank's site are what counts. Tratobor takes no money from banks and has no referral links; this is reference information, not financial advice.

which card to use

Holding two or three of these cards, it's easy to forget which one pays 8% where. In Tratobor, set your country to Singapore in the account settings, add your cards — the rates fill in from this catalog — and each expense shows which card would have paid the most. Free; no bank login.
