Best cashback credit cards for groceries in Singapore

Groceries are a large, steady monthly bill, which makes them a good fit for a card with a minimum spend — but some cards name specific supermarkets and others count any supermarket. The calculator ranks every card in our catalog on your own grocery spend.

your numbers

Most cards pay their bonus rate only above a minimum monthly spend, so the total matters. Spend above a cap earns nothing here.

If you mostly use one chain

These rates apply only at the merchants named, or need a condition the calculator can't check, so they aren't in the ranking. If most of your groceries goes to one of them, they can beat every card above.

  • 18% — Cold Storage, CS Fresh, Jasons Deli, Giant, with the DBS yuu Card; needs S$800 a month and purchases at 4 participating merchants.
  • 5% — Sheng Siong, with the POSB Everyday Card; no minimum spend; capped at S$20 a month.
  • 5% — Cold Storage, CS Fresh, Jasons Deli, Giant, with the DBS yuu Card; no minimum spend; scan or link your yuu ID.

What counts as groceries

Supermarket spend is recognised by the merchant category code (MCC) of the store's terminal, usually 5411 (grocery stores and supermarkets). Some cards pay their grocery rate only at named chains — the card's label says so — and online grocery orders may count as online spend rather than groceries. Wet markets, minimarts inside petrol stations and warehouse clubs can be coded differently.

Questions and answers

Does online grocery shopping count?

On some cards yes, on others it counts as online spend or not at all — it depends on how the retailer's website is coded and on the card's terms. The note next to each grocery rate here repeats the bank's condition.

Is a supermarket-specific card better than a general one?

If nearly all your groceries come from one chain, a card that names it can pay more. If you shop around, a card that pays on any supermarket is safer: spend at the other chains still earns.

Other categories

Checked against the banks' own pages and terms on 13 October 2026. Banks change rates, caps and exclusions at short notice — the card's terms on the bank's site are what counts. Tratobor takes no money from banks and has no referral links; this is reference information, not financial advice.

which card to use

Holding two or three of these cards, it's easy to forget which one pays 8% where. In Tratobor, set your country to Singapore in the account settings, add your cards — the rates fill in from this catalog — and each expense shows which card would have paid the most. Free; no bank login.
